Cloud Tokenization

While there are a variety of methods of protecting sensitive data in the cloud, some instances require data to remain under an organization’s direct physical control. The Vaultive Cloud Security Platform can replace designated data types with tokens for storage in the cloud while preserving the functionality of cloud applications.

Cloud Tokenization with Vaultive

The Vaultive platform can serve software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications to users through a proxy-based approach that can replace data matching specific patterns and/or destined for specific application fields with replacement data tokens that have no stand-alone correlation to the source data. As an application is used, de-tokenization occurs in real-time on the proxy, providing users with an undisturbed experience.

Meet Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Cloud tokenization allows for the broader adoption of cloud services in a manner that complies with relevant industry regulations, such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.

It’s also a powerful tool for addressing requirements to store data within a particular geographic boundary or to comply with regional data protection regulations, such as the EU General Data Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How it Works

The Vaultive platform can be deployed on-premises in a facility that is under the direct control of the data owner and, if necessary, within a specific geographic boundary. All traffic destined for protected cloud applications is directed through the local gateway where it is inspected prior to transmission to the cloud. Highly customizable rules can be configured to define specific data patterns or SaaS application fields for which tokenization should be applied.

When data is tokenized, the source data and mapping information are maintained locally, ensuring that any unauthorized access to the cloud infrastructure cannot result in access to the protected data.

Unified Cloud Data Security & Governance
